The following is my opinion on local matters and other issues. The list is alphabetical but each issue within is not in any particular order. Most of these topics were brought up in the 2014 election cycle. As other election cycles occur this information will change (either added to or removed as needed).
Issues :
My thoughts on government, how it should be run and your rights as a citizen.
Common topics are your rights, administrating the county, separation of church and state or supporting constitutional amendments.
Covering the issues of business practices, economic development and other financial matters.
This includes the issues of wages, commercial development, heavy taxes or fines and the general way in which business interacts with its clients or customers.
The topics of schools, curriculum or the adminstration of our schools and the school board.
Budget and administration are big topics as well as; the curriculum taught to students and the methods used. Just an overview of how we teach our children the skills needed for the future.
Securing our future, handling preservation and topics related to farming or agricultural practices.
Recycling or reclamation, pollution and environmental preservation. Just some quick notes on response to winter storms and similar emergencies and how we or the utilities have responded in the past. Includes topics on renewable energy, electric cars and climate change.
Violations of your privacy and how your rights are protected or eroded. Also topics on police practices and how technology plays a part in violating your rights.
The use of technology by police like license plate scanners or stingrays. Inappropriate procedures like civil asset forfeiture
Medical issues in general and focus on elder-care or veteran-care.
Marketing of drugs, senior care and financial issues. Some topics of veteran issues. Also need to address failures and short-comings of disaster response for events like corona-virus.
The general issue of mass transit and the availability of transport for the general public and how it is managed.The general availability of services you require or are made to require by industry and government.
Role technology plays in improving quality of life or how it is used to erode your rights. General mismanagement of technology by agencies and business. High speed internet, mass transit, network neutrality and drones or smart cars are the most frequent topics.
